It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Johnson-Brett announces her passing after her battle with Mesothelioma on Friday, September 27, 2024 in Rainbow Lake, New York.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 19 years, Brad, her son Stephen (Savannah) of Palm City, Florida, daughter Jennifer (Steve) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, son Timothy (Brittney) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, stepdaughter Kristin (Derek) of Yelm, Washington, stepdaughter Becky (predeceased) (Morris) of Seminole, Florida, brother Leo (Rozy) of Chelmsford, Massachusetts. And her special Grandchildren, Alexis, Matthew, Mason, Liam, Emma, Jack, Finnick and Charlotte. As well as numerous cousins, and nieces.
Linda grew up in Dracut, Massachusetts. In her high school years her passion was her horse, Windsong, she was an accomplished equestrian winning numerous awards and accolades. She was popular in high school receiving the best dressed award her senior year. Her drive for perfection started at an early age – one of her many sayings, “the way you do something is the way you do everything.” She attended Castle College in Windham New Hampshire.
At the time of her marriage to Brad on July 4, 2005 Linda was Chanel’s top producing make-up artist at their flagship account on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. She was a Hot Yoga enthusiast and doting Mother of three older children. Although her career with Chanel offered the perks needed to raise her three children alone, she longed for a different career. Soon after being with Brad, Linda started her Real Estate career, even convincing Brad to get his license as well. With her drive she soon had multiple Real Estate designations, broker, mortgage broker, GRI and more. It did not take her long before she was engaged with million dollar properties and winning awards as a top producer and marketing expert.
On the home front, what many people remember is Linda’s cooking skills, baking and decorating custom cakes and cookies. Her knack for throwing over the top get togethers that people talk about for years. Along with Brad, her designing, building and decorating three homes to perfection. Her love and care for her Cavaliers - Martini and Cosmo and now Zoey.
Linda fell in love with the Adirondack Mountains after Brad introduced her to his Happy Place. On our many vacations she embraced everything Adirondack, mountain climbing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, boating, snowmobiling and everything nature. We soon came to the understanding that we would build a retirement retreat on or near Rainbow Lake. After 15 years of planning we built our 4 season dream camp “Winter Quarters” – with the understanding to teach our 8 grandchildren about nature, our island world and the ADK.
