Virginia H. Lincoln peacefully passed away on Thanksgiving Day morning, November 24, 2022. Born on October 12, 1929 in Delhi, NY; she was 93 years old. She most recently resided at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid. She was predeceased by her parents Maurice and Nina Hinkley, sisters Margaret French and Diana Frazier, and husband Stanley Lincoln. She is survived by her daughter Aelia Cynthia Lincoln, residing in Stour Provost, England, and her son Christopher Lincoln, residing in Saranac Lake, NY. She is also survived by her sister Beatrice Mann and many nieces and nephews.
Known to most as Ginny, she grew up in Walton, NY and married her high school sweetheart Stan in 1951. After Stan served in the Korean War, they settled in the Vestal/Endicott, NY region to raise a family and Stan started his career at IBM. The family moved to Armonk, NY in 1964, where Ginny remained until she returned to Vestal in 1981. In 2019 she moved to Saratoga Springs, NY and then finally to Lake Placid to be near her son.
Ginny worked for many years as an executive secretary for IBM, but her real joy and passion were music and singing. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church (UMC) and sang in choirs in Walton, Armonk, and the Park Terrace Community UMC in Apalachin, NY. She was also a member of several choruses, including the Endwell Community Chorus, and was known for her beautiful soprano solos that bought joy and comfort to many.
Ginny was a lover of animals. The hardest part of moving from her home to assisted living was having to give up her pets. Her dogs were her constant companions and soulmates. Nothing was more enjoyable than curling up with a good book with a warm fluffy dog on her lap.
Ginny was a kind and loving mother and friend; she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. There is no funeral of service planned at this time. An interment of ashes will be planned for the spring. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.
