Thomas N.”Mouge” Lewis, age 90, of Saranac Lake, died Monday, June 14, 2021.
Born in Bloomingdale, New York on November 3, 1930, he was the son of Claude and Alyce (Hayes) Lewis. Thomas married Barbara L. Allen on September 23, 1953 in Canton New York. Barbara predeceased him on September 13, 2011.
Tom had been employed by New York State Department of Transportation and the later fo United States Air Force serving during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. Tom continued to serve as a member of the New York State National Guard in Saranac Lake for20 years. Tom was an avid golfer and NY Yankees fan. He also enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Roger Brook Hunting Club for many years and the Saranac Lake Veterans Association.
He is survived by one daughter Shirley Davis of Lake Placid, NY and her two children Briana and Michael Davis of Saranac Lake, NY, one son Richard Lewis and his wife Sylvie Lemaire of Cornwall, Ontario, Sylvie's two daughters Natalie and Chantal Lemaire of Ottawa, Ontario, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers Claude, Denton “Destry” and Edward and Jimmy Lewis.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Wednesday June 23,2021, from 7PM - 9PM. A grave will take place at 1:00 PM on Thursday June 24, 2021 at St. Bernard's Cemetery with Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating.
