Dorothy M. Lester, age 77, of Keesemills Road, Paul Smiths, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at her home.
Born in Chazy, New York on August 01, 1935, she was the daughter of Rolla and Alice (Blair) Ero. Dorothy married Clarence Lester on January 29, 1955 at the Malone Methodist Church.
Mrs. Lester had worked at the Stony Wold Sanatorium for a number of years. She later worked as a housekeeper for various area great camps including camp Top Ridge. Mrs. Lester enjoyed gardening, crocheting, puzzles and especially traveling with her husband.
She is survived by her husband Clarence Lester of Paul Smith, three sons Steven Lester of Saranac Lake, Wayne Lester and his wife Myra of Paul Smiths and Clarence Lester, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Paul Smiths, two daughters Jane Lester of Colchester, VT and Judy Lester of Paul Smiths, 3 grandchildren , 3 Great Grandchildren ,12 brothers and sisters, Carl Ero, Lillian Vaughn, Nancy Sorrell, Mary Aubin, Linda Ero, Carol Staley, Roy Ero, Jerry Ero, Donald Ero, Jeannie Staley, Arden Ero, and Denies Ero and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one son William Lester and one brother Stanley Ero.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral Home with Rev. William Cooper officiating. Burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery in Paul Smiths in the spring.
