Rogene Vosburgh LeMay, age 91, of Lake Clear, New York died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on March 14, 1928, she was the daughter of Maurice Vosburgh and and Gloria Thompson Vosburgh.
Rogene graduated from Saranac Lake High School. She attended the American Institute of Banking and Finance as well as art schools in New York, New York and the Farnsworth School of Art, under Jerry Farnsworth, in Siesta Key, Florida.
Rogene was an avid gardener, artist, and connoisseur of antiques. She studied American History, with a focus on the 1700-1800's and an historic appreciation of the local Adirondacks that she loved. A little known fact is that she was a lover of animals and worked for a time at the Saranac Lake Animal Shelter.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara LeMay Darring; grandchildren, Jennifer McIntosh Blaker and her husband, Jeremy Blaker, of Greenwood, Indiana, Shane McIntosh and his wife Judi of Lake Clear, New York, and Sam Darring of Los Angeles, California; three great grandchildren, Ehyrie Buehler, Lyric Smith, and Blake McIntosh; nephews, William and Julie Donati, their daughter Olivia, and James Donati, and his son Austin Jandreau of Wilbraham, Massachusetts; as well as her long-time companion and friend, Tanya Thomas. Mrs. LeMay was predeceased by her husband, Peter Venance LeMay; her parents Maurice and Gloria Vosburgh; and her sister, Gloria Vosburgh Donati.
Service will be held at Saint Bernard's Catholic Church at 11:00 am on Monday, April 29, to be followed by a graveside burial at the Harrietstown Cemetary. A reception will follow at the Porcupine Inn on Park Avenue from 1:00 to 4:00.
