Beverly Jean Law, age 72, of 84 Park Ave., Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, March 03, 2009 at her home.
She was born in Saranac Lake, New York on June 28, 1936, the daughter of Howard and Bertha (Roberts) Myatt. She married Stephen E. Law on February 26, 1960 in Saint Bernard's Church. He predeceased her on February 20, 1992.
Mrs. Law was a life long resident of Saranac Lake. She graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1957. She completed training as an X-ray technician at the Syracuse Guild School. She worked as a nurse's aide at Saranac General Hospital, Sunmount, Uihlein and in people's homes. She later graduated from North Country Community College in 1981 receiving an AA degree in Retail Business Management and in 1991 with an AA degree in Liberal Arts. Mrs. Law had been employed at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise since 1990 until she retired in 1995. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Bernard. She enjoyed genealogy, gardening, painting, knitting and a good book.
She is survived by her daughter Dr. Judy Law-Torok, son- in-law Kenneth Torok, Jr., and grandson Jason Law -Torok of Palos Verdes Estates, CA; her sisters-in-laws Betty Myatt of Paul Smiths, NY, Emma Berghom of Saranac Lake, NY, Marie Law and her brother-in-law Ray Law of Vermont and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her father, mother and two brothers Howard and Wayne Myatt.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday, March 6, 2009 from 2PM -4PM and 7PM - 9PM. A bible vigil service will take place on Friday afternoon at 3:45 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial win take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 7, 2009 at St. Bernard's Church. Burial will take place in St. Bernard cemetery in Saranac Lake.
