She attended Holy Ghost Academy and Tupper Lake High School, graduating in 1969. She received an A.A.S. in Business Administration from North Country Community College. She attended the University of Plattsburgh earning a B.S. in elementary education. Several years later she went back to school and went on to earn a M.S. in reading from University of Potsdam. Ms. LaVigne had a lifelong love of and commitment to young children which was reflected in the jobs she held. She owned and operated the Jack & Jill Nursery School for 5 years. Ms. LaVigne also taught first grade CCD classes for several years in St. Alphonsus church. Mr. LaVigne loved her family above all. She had a passion for being outdoors, camping and picnicking.
