OBITUARY
TUPPER LAKE- Jane LaVigne, 90, of Tupper Lake, died Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the AMC Mercy Center where she had resided since April 2005. Born on August 10, 1918 in Staten Island, she was the daughter of John and Frances (Pinkus) Topka. On January 25, 1943 she married Rene LaVigne. They moved to Tupper Lake in 1944. Mrs. LaVigne was employed at various motels in the housekeeping dept. and later at Mercy General Hospital. She was a member of the Ste. Anne’s society and the Ladies Republican Club. She is survived by two daughters, Renee Furnia and her husband Tom of Tupper Lake and Arlene Sauve of Tolond, Ct., and five grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband in 1993 and a daughter Nancy Brown in 2002. There will be no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 31 at 11:00 a..m. at St. Alphonsus church. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus cemetery in May. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the AMC Mercy Center or the Goff Nelson Library. Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.
