William Laplant

TUPPER LAKE- William J. LaPlant,58, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the VA of Western NY healthcare clinic in Buffalo. Born on May 19, 1952 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of William and Edna LaPlant. He attended local schools and enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 30, 1972. William was honorably discharged on October 22, 1974. After his military service, he went on to work as a mechanic for General Motors for several years. At the time of his death, he was finishing truck driving school. He is survived by three daughters; Saundra LaPlant of Kentucky, Melissa Bradley and Heather Hall both of Tupper Lake, one son Jeffery LaPlant of Lyons, NY. Also surviving are five grandsons, three brothers; Larry LaPlant of Ogdensburg, Robert LaPlant of Tupper Lake, Martin LaPlant of Long Lake, one sister; Donna Lewis of Tupper Lake. He was pre-deceased by his parents and two brothers; Donald and Raymond LaPlant. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 28th from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. A funeral service will follow at 4:30 at the funeral home with Pastor Joann White officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
