Katherine Lamay

Word has been received of the death of Katherine R. LaMay, age 92, of the Swinyer Road, Vermontville, NY died Monday, June 15, 2009 at AMC-Uihlein in Lake Placid where she had been a resident since November of 2008.

Born in Malone, New York on March 15, 1917, she was the daughter of Ward and Mary (McMhon) Rogers.

She married John LaMay who predeceased her. Mrs. LaMay had worked for various area businesses including the Belvedere Restaurant in Saranac Lake.

She is survived by one daughter Diane T. Goff and her husband David of Vermontville, NY, one sister Oda Hogan of Saratoga Springs, NY; many grandchildren including Missy Begor and her husband Wayne of Vermontville, NY, Tammie Sullivan and her husband Wade of Vermontville, NY, and Tacey Bodner and her husband Daron of New Hampshire. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one daughter Patricia Hoefer, one son Jon LaMay, two sisters Virginia LaMay and her sister Emma Wright and one brother Phil Rogers.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place at a later date to be announced at Mountain View Cemetery in Gabriels.
