TUPPER LAKE
Roy Eugene LaFountain, 78 of Tupper Lake passed away peacefully May 4, 2011 while surrounded by his loving family.
Born November, 20, 1932 in Conifer, New York, he was the son of Stella (Perry) and Eugene LaFountain.
On July 30, 1955 he married the former Geraldine Pickering at Holy Name Church.
Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a aircraft mechanic from 1956 till 1958. After his service, he returned to Tupper Lake and worked for Oval Wood Dish, Tahawas Mines, North Country Dress Factories in Saranac Lake and in Tupper Lake, and later worked at the L.P.Quinn Elementary School as the head custodian retiring in 1995.
Roy enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine (Pickering) of fifty-seven years, daughter Marsha and her husband Thomas Poulin of Tupper Lake, Grandson, Christopher Poulin and his fiancee Renee Lemieux of Saranac Lake, Granddaughter, Sarah Poulin of Tupper Lake, sisters; Pearl Arnold and Helen Reandeau of Tupper Lake, Arilla (Elsie) Morin and her husband Ben Morin of Fort Mohave, Arizona and brother Harold LaFountain of Tupper Lake, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, one brother Francis LaFountain, and one sister Theresa Boushey.
Calling hours will be held Monday, May 9, 2011 at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral home in Tupper Lake from 11:00a.m.-12:45 p.m. followed by; a funeral service in his honor held at Holy Name Church at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Holy Name Cemetery.
