Lisa Marie LaFountain, age 65 of Elderwood of Uihlein of Lake Placid, has passed away peacefully February 21, 2023.
Born in Ogdensburg on August 15, 1957 she is the daughter of Robert (Bob) and V. Louise (Emmons) LaFountain.
Lisa attended and graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1976. She worked various jobs throughout her life. Up until her retirement due to health reasons, she was employed by Dunkin Donuts where she knew her customers well. She always met you with a smile and would remember your vehicle and voice and knew your order by heart. After retiring you could find her in front of her computer playing games; catching up with friends and family on Facebook near and far.
She loved doing any type of crafting. Her family and friends always received crocheted blankets that were personalized whether it was the colors or pattern. She was a strong believer homemade gifts were the best gifts and were cherished most.
She is survived by her mother V. Louise LaFountain of Saranac Lake, one daughter Raenene Woodard of Saranac Lake, three grandchildren, Alexis, Jayden and Brayden all of Saranac Lake, one brother and sister-in-law R. Anthony (Tony) and Lynn Ann of Penfield, two nieces Jennifer LaFountain of Penfield, and Stacey LaFountain of Manassas, VA, two great nieces Ava and Adyson Larwood of Penfield. Along with her many "adopted" extended family.
She was predeceased by her father Bob on March 13, 2004.
She has one close friend that they shared a special bond with. They would craft together, have their tea and dinner dates. Lynne Symonds was there for her after her illness took over. They would reminisce over dinner of watching each other's children grow up together.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours per the family’s request. A burial service will take place in Brookside Cemetery in Bloomingdale and a celebration of life at a later date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, Lisa wishes any donations be made to Saranac Lake Volunteer Rescue Service or Hospice of Saranac Lake in care of Fortune Keough Funeral Home. Family and friends can also share their condolences and memories at fortunekeoughfuneralhome.com.
