Yvonne B LaFave, age 85, of Tupper Lake, NY died Friday, March 27, 2009 at AMC-Mercy in Tupper Lake where she had been a resident since September 2005.
Born in Malone, New York on August 13, 1923, she was the daughter of Leo and Flosshair (Paquin) Charette. She married Francis LaFave on March 4, 1946. He predeceased her in December of 1962.
She was predeceased by her son Stephen and her sisters Lucille and Rosalie. Yvonne is survived by her seven children Sidonna Dewyea and her husband David of Tupper Lake, Valerie Savage of Tupper Lake, Wayne LaFave of North Carolina, Patrick LaFave of Concord N.H., Claire Porier and her husband Dean of Tupper Lake, Amy Lalonde of Tupper Lake and Todd LaFave of Carthage, NY; one sister Florence Tarbox of Gloversville, NY and one brother Joseph Charette of Colton, NY, 19 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Most of her life she spent as a homemaker. Later in life she took a job as a cook for the Litchfield family at Litchfield Park for several years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and knitting. She especially enjoyed sewing and knitting for the grandchildren and baking special birthday cakes for them.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday March 30, 2009 at St. Alphonsus, with Kris Lauzon officiating. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake.
