STEVEN KONKOSKI- Word has been received that Steven R. Konkoski peacefully left this earth surrounded by his family to be with Jesus on February 27, 2009 at CVPH medical center in Plattsburgh. Steven was born in Massena, NY on August 20, 1924, the son of Anthony and Veronica (Petruniaz) Konkoski and spent his childhood there. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the US Army where he proudly served 3 years during World War II. He returned home and spent most of his years as a chef. He successfully managed the Tupper Lake Country Club restaurant and retired from the Tupper Lake Central School where he served as cook. Steven enjoyed playing with his two dogs, Buddy and Tinkerbell, spending time with his family, cooking holiday meals and working in his ceramic shop. He is survived by his wife Beulah A. Konkoski, a daughter Patricia Modell and husband Craig of Cedarburg, WI. a son Gary S. Konkoski of Saranac Lake, two step-daughters Heidi Cheney and her husband Michael of Tupper Lake and Brenda Carter and her husband Mark of Redford, a sister Mary Wilson and her husband Floyd of Massena. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents, 13 siblings and one step-son Teddy Bourbeau.
