Doris Elaine Kilroy, age 77, of Saranac Lake, died Sunday, January 9, 2022 at her home.
Born in Watertown, N.Y. on March 9, 1944. Doris was the daughter of Thurston and Lucille (Wiley) Gosier of Chaumont, N.Y. Doris married the love of her life Timothy Carlton Kilroy on May 27, 1967 at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake.
Doris graduated from Lyme High School in 1962. Following graduation she moved to Saranac Lake and studied radiology from 1964 to 1965 under Dr.Rosenstein. Doris loved spending time at the family farm with Tim and her grandchildren. Doris would often be found exploring the shoreline. In 2000, Doris and Tim started building their cottage on Pillar Point in Dexter where they would spend their summers. During the building process, Doris would be known as “The Boss” pulling out her book on correct building every step of the way. She enjoyed gardening and creating beautiful flower beds, painting, knitting, crocheting, and reading.
Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a remarkable cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends most especially over the holidays. We will all miss her witty sense of humor and mostly her advice and guidance.
