Doris Kent, age 80, of 54 Prospect St. of Bloomingdale, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at her home under the care of her loving family and help from hospice, following a ten year battle with cancer.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 9,1930, she was the daughter of Harold and Edna Meimann. She married Donald Kent on May 31, 1952 in Elmont Long Island, NY. He predeceased her on November 5, 1988.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Doris was known by many in our local community for her regular activity in her house to house bible educational work over the last 42 years.
She is survived by two sons, John Kent and his wife Shari L. of Bloomingdale, NY. Mark Kent and his wife Cynthia also of Bloomingdale, NY., two grandsons, Garrett and Christopher Kent of Bloomingdale, NY., and one brother Kenneth Meimann of Queensbury, NY. She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours, a memorial service will take place at 2:30 pm on Saturday, November 13, at the Kingdom Hall, Jehovah's Witnesses, 5043 State Route 3, Saranac Lake. All are welcome to attend.
