Joyce Ann Durett

Joyce Ann (Buckson) Durett, age 68, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024 at UVM in Burlington VT. surrounded by her family. 

Joyce was born on November 19, 1955 in Warren Ohio, the daughter of Ralph and Laura (Swinyer) Buckson. Joyce's life was a testament to her love of life, her family, the community and her outgoing and uplifting personality. 
 
 Joyce drove taxi for over 25 years in the Tri-Lakes area. She was best known for her beautiful attitude towards life and willingness to go out of her way to her to love and support everyone around her. Her love for people was apparent to all who knew her. Her smile and laughter could be heard and seen wherever she went. 
 
 Joyce is survived by her two children: Sherman and Kimberlee, her three grandchildren: Alyssa, Brayden and Logan, her sister Carol and her 3 children: Mikie, Paulie and RiaVal. Her love was far-reaching and will live on through her family and myriad of friends. 
 
 Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. A memorial to celebrate Joyce's life will be held on Wednesday May 29, 2024 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Fortune Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
