Ruemell Johnson, age 60, of 14 Kiwassa Road, Saranac Lake, NY died Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Sumter, South Carolina on January 30, 1948, she was the daughter of Willie and Rosa Lee (Horton) Gadsden. She was raised by her adoptive parents Durant and Hatti McFadden. She married Robert Johnson on June 16, 1979.
Mrs. Johnson had been a resident of Saranac Lake for the past twelve years and had been employed at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise. Prior to that, she had moved to Tupper Lake, NY in 1989 coming from Brooklyn, New York.
She is survived by her husband Robert Johnson of Tupper Lake, NY; four children Deida Monea Gadsden of Oakland, CA, Eric Maurice Gadsden of Brooklyn, NY, Dwann Monique Johnson of Saranac Lake, NY, and Robert J. Johnson, II of Tupper Lake, NY; two brothers Raymond Mitchel of New Haven, CT and Jimmy Gadsden of Ravened, SC; one sister Anna Belle Chaney of Sumter, SC; six grandchildren Presious Iesha Johnson of Tupper Lake, NY, Janecee Monea Gadsden of Brooklyn, NY, Eric Maurice Gadsden, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY , Keyana Monique Johnson of Tupper Lake, NY, Julius Robert Johnson of Saranac Lake, NY, and Denshia Gadsden of Brooklyn, NY. She is also survived by many cousins including Malachi Blandon of Hamden, CT, and many Nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake at 4:30PM, on Saturday January 31, 2009 with Pastor David Boyea officiating.
