TUPPER LAKE

Daniel Jessie, 91, of Tupper Lake, died in his home on September 23, 2012 following a short illness. Born August 27, 1921, he was the son of Amos and Marcedaise Jessie. He attended local schools and on August 12, 1942 Mr. Jessie entered the U.S. Army during WWII receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal and the World War II victory medal. He was discharged in February 1946. He returned to Tupper Lake and was a member of the Carpenter Union for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He leaves a legacy of love and kindness to the many lives he touched over the years. He will be dearly missed by all who he called family or friend. He was pre-deceased by his wife Betty Jessie in 2008. He is survived by his children, Adrian (Lois) Jessie of Arizona, Dana (Bill) Lonergan of Tupper Lake, Allen (Cheryl) Jessie of Camden and Debbie (Lawrence) Jessie of Liverpool. Step-children, Melody (Art) Clark of North Carolina, Warrene McCarthy of Bloomingdale, Judy (Greg) Stinson of Ecuador and Jack (Angie) Moody of Tupper Lake. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are cousins Ernie (Rita) Jessie of Tupper Lake and Charlie (Sue) Jessie of Saranac Lake. A graveside service is scheduled for 1 pm Saturday, September 29th at Lakeview cemetery in Tupper Lake. Those wishing to make memorial donations are asked to consider High Peaks Hospice whose caring services allowed him to spend his final days in his own home with his family as he wished.
