Word has been received of the death of Charlotte A. Jarnot, age 89, formerly of Forest Home Road, Saranac Lake and currently of Springfield, OH who died on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Forest Glenn Nursing Home in Springfield.
Born in Buffalo, New York on May 12, 1924, she was the daughter of Stephen and JoAnne (Kucinski) Szczepanski.
Charlotte married Ferdinand Jarnot on July 20, 1954 at St. Bernard’s Church. He predeceased her on June 7, 1996.
Charlotte was a Licensed practical nurse at Ray Brook State Hospital from 1952 to 1972. She continued on there at the Ray Brook State Rehabilitation Center for 5 years and from 1977 until her retirement she worked at Sunmount State Hospital for the developmentally disabled.
She is survived by one son Dr. Thomas F. Jarnot and his wife Jo’el of Beavercreek, Ohio, 2 Grandchildren Jaden Thomas Jarnot age 11, and Jordan Jarnot, age 8, one sister Mildred Knickerbocker of Deland Florida and 2 nephews.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 pm on Friday October 25, 2013 at St. Bernard's Church, with Rev. Mark Reilly officiating. Burial will follow at Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
