Janice Gauthier

Janice Gauthier, age 90, of Saranac Lake, died Friday, November 22, 2024 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid. 

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on February 12, 1934, she was the daughter of Leon and Dorothy (Rice) Stearns. Janice married Francis Gauthier on Monday, February 11, 1980 in Bloomingdale, NY. Francis predeceased her on May 2, 2016. 

Janice was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake. She had briefly moved from Saranac Lake during World War II to "Camp Drum" and returned back to Saranac Lake after 10 years.

Janice is survived by one daughter April Aubin of Saranac Lake, three sons David Aubin of Lake Placid, Dirk (Janice) Aubin of Michigan and Dean Aubin of Ohio, one sister Beverly Townley, and one brother-in-law Homer Gauthier of Saranac Lake. 

Janice was preceded in death by her father and mother; three brothers Francis, Roddy, and Walter Stearns; one sister Eileen Harding; and her father and mother-in- law Ernest and Nora Gauthier and one sister-in-law Eleanor M. Stearns.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. At Janice’s request a private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
