Robert Roger Hickok, age 64, of Fish Creek Ponds, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in Port Richie, FL.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on June 27, 1954, he was the son of Robert and Carolyn Hickok. He married Lyn Harvey on June 23, 1979 at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake.

Roger was a lifelong resident of the area and had been employed as a New York State Corrections Officer for the past 25 years and retired from Camp Gabriels May 2008. Prior to that he had worked for the Town of Santa Clara Highway Department. He also worked his entire life in the family business, Hickok’s Boat Livery, which has operated since 1926. Roger also enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Saranac Lake Veteran’s Memorial Association, past member of the Saranac Lake Moose Club and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife Lyn Hickok of Fish Creek, one daughter Megan (Justin) Carter of Bloomingdale, one son Dale Hickok and his fiancé Nicole Montevago of St. Regis Falls, one brother William (Julie) Hickok of Bloomingdale, one sister Carol Anne Hickok and her companion Dav Mickey of Colchester, VT, one uncle Don Clark of Ohio, four grandchildren, Brylee Carter, Kaydance Hickok, Dale Hickok, Jr. and Camron Hickok, one nephew Gary Hickok, and many cousins.

Local funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A celebration of life will take place at a later date to be announced. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
