Daniel A. Hamm, age 24, of 179 Cold Brook Road, Vermontville, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on August 18, 1984, he was the son of Donald and Doris (Tuthill) Hamm.
Daniel graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 2002. He had been employed by various businesses in the area including Don Scammell, Inc., Stanley Chevrolet, Wayne Darrah Auto Body, Saranac Lake Civic Center and Gregory Supply. He also had worked many years in the family business, Whiteface Construction. Daniel graduated from the New York State Correctional Academy on March 2, 2006 and currently had been assigned to Green Haven Correctional Facility. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also loved motor sports, including boating, four wheeling, and motorcycles and just about anything with a motor on it, especially driving the “Hamm”boni at the Civic Center.
He is survived by his father and mother Donald and Doris Hamm of Vermontville, one sister Jennifer Hamm and her fiancé Tim Greenfield of Homer, NY, one brother Darrell Hamm and Jennifer Blocher of Gettysburg, PA, his paternal grandmother Marion Hamm of Vermontville, NY, and his maternal grandfather Francis Tuthill of Bloomingdale, NY, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday, September 19, 2008 from 2PM -4PM and 7PM - 9PM. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday September 20, 2008 at Union Cemetery in Vermontville, with Rev. David Drake officiating.
Friends wishing to remember Daniel A. Hamm may make memorial contributions to Tri-Lakes Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
