Paula M. (Gardner) Griffin, age 62, of 235 Lake Street, Saranac Lake, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Schenectady, New York on May 12, 1950, she was the daughter of John and Phylis (Macey) Gardner. Paula married Philip “Bunk” Griffin on January 25, 1969 in Saranac Lake, NY.
Paula is a graduate of Saranac Lake High School. She had been employed at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake as a Nurses Aid for many years. Despite life long health issues Paula will be most remembered by family and friends for her extreme compassion towards others, amazing strength, never ending sense of humor and love of the Lord. Paul was also an avid bowler.
She is survived by her husband Philip “Bunk” Griffin of Saranac Lake, two daughters Karryann Griffin and Chris Euber of Saranac Lake, and Kelly Griffin and Erik VanYserloo of Saranac Lake, NY, 2 Grandchildren Christopher J. Lawless, II and Karley Grace VanYserloo, 5 brothers and sisters , Rita Pickreign and her husband John of Saranac Lake, Beverly Stienbach and her husband Donald of Syracuse, Albert Gardner and his wife Joan of Rochester, Vincent Gardner and his wife Nancy of Orlando, Fl., and John Gardner and his companion Deborah Ingraham of N.C., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one brother Michael "Mickey" Gardner and her identical twin sister Eileen Gardner.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow with Rev. Bill Muench officiating. Burial will follow in Harrietstown Cemetery.
