Henry Dickson “Buz” Graves, Jr. age 77 of Saranac Lake, died on Saturday September 25, 2021 at his residence.
Born in New York City, Buz visited Rainbow Lake, NY, since age four. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard in the mid 1960’s where he was seriously injured following which he went to college and earned a Masters of Social Work degree. He became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
His son Jud has two daughters Sarah and Kinsley and his daughter Rebecca has a son Cody and daughter Kensey. Their spouses are Linda and Eric respectively.
Buz participated in many sports in school and skied, backpacked, camped, hunted and fished. His hobbies were photography and antiques, especially early lighting. Most of his vacations were in the Saranac Lake, NY area. Buz’s local interest are Eagle Island in Upper Saranac Lake which his great grandfather gave to the Girl Scouts of N.J. in 1937. The camp has reopened to campers after much restoration. Buz also supports the 6 Nations Indian Museum in Onchiota, NY, the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge in Wilmington, NY, the Wild Center in Tupper Lake, NY where donations would be appreciated and Historic Saranac Lake (N.Y.).
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. At Buz’s request, there will be no calling hours, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
