Mildred Goodrich

December 12, 1928 — May 19, 2020

Mildred Louise Van Bramer Goodrich, 91, passed away peacefully at Uihlein Living Center in Lake Placid on May 19, 2020. She was born Dec. 12, 1928, to James and Helen Knauf Van Bramer. She moved to Saranac Lake when she married Richard Goodrich, who preceded her in death in 2003.

Mildred was born in Brooklyn just a few minutes before her twin sister Marilyn. Mildred grew up in the New York City area, where her and her twin sister enjoyed performing as singers. She moved to Saranac Lake when she married and that is where she raised her four children. Mildred worked for many years at Saranac Lake General Hospital in the business office and later as a nurse after fulfilling a lifelong dream by completing the nursing program at North Country Community College with her twin sister Marilyn.

Mildred and Richard “Dick” moved to Florida for a few years, but the majority of their 55 years of marriage were spent in Saranac Lake. Mildred was residing in Saranac Lake with her sister Marilyn and niece Linda Cihi until shortly before her death.

Mildred is preceded by her son Daniel, husband Richard, brother James Van Bramer and grandson Todd Goodrich.

Mildred is survived by her sister Marilyn Donovan of Saranac Lake; son William Goodrich of Pegosa Springs, Colorado; son James Goodrich of Saranac Lake; daughter Marilyn Goodrich Hendry of Belmont, North Carolina; her grandchildren James Goodrich, Josh Goodrich, Kelsey Hendry Mayo, Genna Goodrich and Shaleen Goodrich; great-grandchildren Carter Goodrich and William Goodrich; and her nieces Linda Cihi, Patti Alcaniz and Nancy Mazur.
