Hon. Thomas Glover

Hon. Thomas R Glover of Saranac Lake, NY was born on August 13, 1935 in Boston, Mass. Raised in Plainfield, NJ by George and Mildred Holt. He graduated from Scotch Plains High School June 1954. He attended Delhi College in September 1954 and later transferred to Paul Smiths College's Forestry Program September 1955. While attending Paul Smith's he met Rose Marie Branch of Saranac Lake, and they married October 13th, 1956. Tom loved the Adirondack Mountains and considered it God's country. He was an avid outdoors men, he loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was well known for his generosity and contagious smile and outgoing personality.

Tom owned and operated several businesses throughout the years in Saranac Lake; The Rose Marie Garden Center, Tri-Lakes Tree Service, The Rainbow Bar & Grill, R.M. Glover Plumbing & Heating. Tom also had a long career in the Propane Industry, as Sales Rep, Technician and as a Manager.

Tom was very active in his communities. He was past chief of the Bloomingdale Fire Dept. a member of the Saranac Lake Fire Dept., Village and Town Justice of Saranac Lake, Past Commander of the American Legion Post 447 and County Commander. A Shriner and the 2003 Potentate of the Media Temple. Past President of the Veterans Memorial Association, Member of the Elks Lodge, Member of the Moose Lodge, Member of the Kiwanis Club, 32d degree Mason of the Whiteface Mountain Lodge. Connecticut State Fire Instructor and Deputy Fire Marshall, Justice of the Peace, Plainfield, Ct. Tom served his country proudly in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1962. He also received the Franklin County bar association Liberty Bell Award on Law Day, May 6th 2011

Tom was lovingly known as Pop-Pop to his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, and as "Just Plain Tom" to his friends, when they called him "Judge".

Tom will be dearly missed by his children; Donna Glover Wiley, Debbie (Billy) Stafford, Thomas (Teresa) Glover and his Grand Children; Amanda Boomhower, Carl (Marisa) Boomhower, Jared Wells and his companion Larissa Morse, Rachel (Tommy) Bleau, Maggie Vischer and Nora Rose Glover and his Great Grand Children; Thomas, Nicholas, Lillianna, Adalina, Lillian, Chase, Tyler, Mason, Evelyn Rose, Gracelyn, Adisyn, Trevor and Cody. His sisters; Nancy (Joel) Goudy and Carol (Bob) Lejeune. Tom is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. His beloved "guard" dog Piper who brought him much joy and laughter these past 2 years.

Tom is predeceased by his parents, George & Millie Holt, his beloved wife of 57 years, Rose Marie and his beloved and beautiful Great Granddaughter, Alyssa Taylor Christiana.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday July 9, 2016 at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A masonic, veteran’s and fireman’s prayer service will take place at 2:00 PM immediately followed by a funeral service with Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
