Irene Girard

OBITUARY

CHILDWOLD- Irene "Gram" V. (Derosia) Girard, 83, of Childwold, died Friday, August 28, 2009 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born on September 24, 1925 in Sullwan, NH. She was the daughter of Amedos and Dora (Forett) Derosia. She was married to Edgar Girard on April 8, 1946 and later resided with Gerard L'Italian. Mrs. Girard was a home maker most of her life and also along with Gerard operated L'Italian's grocery and gas station in Childwold. She enjoyed building puzzles and playing bingo. She is survived by a granddaughter Carol Houle and a great-granddaughter Allysa Houle with whom she resided. She is also survived by two daughters, Laura LaPlante of Chicopee, Mass, Joyce Ammous of Tampa Bay, Fl., one son George Girard of Worcester, Mass, 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by two daughters, Virginia I. Kincaid and Carol A. Kincaid and 12 brothers and sisters. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 1st from 7 to 9 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. A graveside service will be on Wednesday at 2pm at Gale cemetery.
