On the afternoon of December 8, 2021, Richard “Richie” P. Gansfuss, 76, of Saranac Lake, peacefully passed away at the Adirondack Medical Center.
Richard was born on June 9, 1945 in Westchester County, NY. the son of Michael and Elizabeth (Acciavatti) Gansfuss.
Richie had a way of lighting up a room with his infectious smile and laugh. He enjoyed art, and was an artist who had a knack for painting, displaying his artwork not only around his home, but in local business offices throughout the community, the local art walk and in many of his care givers homes. He was a NASCAR enthusiast who also enjoyed being outdoors, listening to rock and roll music, collecting a variety of rocks/stones, watching movies (preferably of the comedic genre) on his projector screen, and making those all around him smile. He really enjoyed all the holidays, seeing the lights and decorations. Richie most certainly endeared himself into the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be missed by many, especially by his Adirondack Arc family.
Richard is survived by his only sibling, his brother, Michael Gansfuss Jr. who resides in Florida.
He was predeceased by his mother and father.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday December 15, 2021 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home followed by a prayer service at 3:00pm with the Reverend Martin Cline officiating. Burial will be private and at a later date convenient for the family.
