On the evening of Feb 25th 2019 George Gallagher (87) went to his final Camp site with his favorite things, coffee and donuts.
George was Born to Francis and Ida Gallagher on May 3rd, 1931 in Ticonderoga New York.
In the year of 1989 George moved into the Adirondacks where he truly fit in. He loved any activity that had to do with being outside such as, BBQ’s, camping each summer, walks by water or wildlife trails. Anything to do with wildlife you could count George in. George especially loved birds and birds watching. He also enjoyed the peacefulness of being with horses. George made many lifelong friends while he was a member of our community. Without even trying he could put a smile on everyone’s face. George loved the Native American Heritage and continued to educate himself on it throughout his time. Often times you could find him at local Museums spending his time or donating to the business. George will truly be missed by many.
George is survived by many close friends, and family member Danyell Swain.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A memorial service will be at the convenience of friends and family, and a Spring burial is planned.
Family and friends wishing to remember George Gallagher, may make memorial contributions to the Wilmington Wildlife Refuge in care of the Funeral Home. Family and friends can also share their memories and sign the online guestbook at fortunekeoughfuneralhome.com
