Arnold Fromme

Arnold Fromme, age 83, of 138 Tebutt Road, Rainbow Lake, NY died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at his home.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on December 21, 1925, he was the son of Samuel and Jeannette (Friedlander) Fromme. He married Catherine Thomasian in New York City, NY in 1958. She predeceased him on December 27, 1993.

Mr. Fromme graduated from Julliard and Columbia University. He received his PHD from Colombia University and had been employed as a college professor at Newark College, Newark, NJ. He loved good books and all types of music. He was a classical music professional and founder of the American Brass Quintet. He was interested in Native American culture and loved teaching kids. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1944-1945.

He is survived by one son Gregory Fromme of Baltimore, MD, one daughter Vanessa Andrews of Marina Del Ray, CA, and one sister Lila Siegel and her husband Norman of Sarasota, FL.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.
