Francis Murray Kilfoyle, 86, a loving father and husband, who missed his wife Rosalie every day, was reunited with her on Sunday June 23, 2024. He was born on January 26, 1938 the 5th of 6 children to Chester William Kilfoyle, Sr. and Ellen Mary Kilfoyle (Malone) in Plattsburgh, NY.
He was one of the hardest working men you could ever meet. He started working on a nearby farm as a teen, and later would work multiple jobs to care for his family. He retired from the American Management Association filling various positions there over the years in security, maintenance, and the warehouse. He enjoyed spending time with his family camping in the Adirondacks, as he loved this beautiful place. He was one of the kindest men you will ever meet, and would help anyone in need.
He is survived by son Randy, daughter Lisa, son in law Steve, beloved granddaughter Carys, brother Dave and sister in law Virginia. Special thanks to his brother Dave for regular phone calls, visits, and TLC. Thank you to Amanda, and the staff at Elderwood where he lived for the last 6 years after he sustained a spinal cord injury. The injury dramatically changed his life, but he worked tirelessly in therapy to be as independent as possible. He will be dearly missed, but his lived lessons in kindness and hard work will live on in us.
Funeral arrangements are in cae of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A memorial service will take place at 11:45 AM on Friday, July 12, 2024 at the Chapel at Elderwood of Uihlein with Rev. Paul Kelly officiating. Burial will immediately to follow at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.
