Olive "Ollie" D. Forth of Saranac Lake, passed away December 11, 2017 at CVPH Medical Center.
She was born in Rochester, NY on December 31, 1926. She was the daughter of the Martha M. Ide and Dr. Vladimir T. Dimitroff.
She was a 1945 graduate of North High School in Worcester, MA. She matriculated at Clark University, majoring in Psychology and graduated from Paul Smith's College in 1949.
She married Donald Joseph Forth, June 10, 1950 in the St. Regis Presbyterian Church in Paul Smiths. She is survived by five children, Donald Forth of Spring Hill, FL, Jeffrey Forth of Warrenville, IL, Craig Forth and Kent Serig of Winter Park, FL, Susan Forth of Reston, VA, Donna and Bruce Leonard of Saranac Lake and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Donald in 2011, her parents, brother Vladimir, sister in law Mae and sister Marilyn.
Olive owned and operated Trade Winds East Antiques from 1972 to 2005.
She loved people, gardening and reading. She was known for her lovely flower garden and would chat with anyone. A book a day was normal for her in her retirement. She volunteered for the Village Improvement Society, St. Luke's Budget Box and was on the Paul Smith's Alumni Council.
At Olive's request, there will not be any calling hours or service and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations in memory of Olive, may be made to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad or the Saranac Lake Village Improvement Society in care of Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.
