Katee Morgan Fobare

Katee Morgan Fobare, age 79, of 400 Lake Street, Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Adirondack Medical Center.
Born in Ogdensburg, New York on May 09, 1931, she was the daughter of Alfred and Anne (Fearnon) Morgan.
Katee grew up in Massena, New York and later graduated from Crouse -Irving Hospital School of Nursing in Syracuse. She moved to Saranac Lake in the late 1950's and had been employed as an RN at the Saranac Lake General Hospital and the Lake Placid Hospital for several years. She later worked as a Banquet Manager for Howard Johnson in Lake Placid. She was very active in the community volunteering for numerous organizations including: the Speed Skating Club, Business and Professional Women's Association, Saranac Lake Golf Club, Saranac Lake Elks Club BPOSE 1508 where she was an exalted Lady of the Elks, Saranac Lake Adult Center and the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Committee. Katee also served on the Board of Directors of the Town Hall Players and Community Theater Players, was a cast member in numerous local theater productions, served as President of the Saranac Lake Women's Bowling Association and One O’clock league, Coached the Saranac Lake High School Bowling Team, coach and Director for the junior bowling league, Chairman of the Ladies Golf Association and Inter Club Tournament Committee, and served as Chairman of the 1980, 83 and 84 Winter Carnival Committee. She was crowned Queen of the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival in 1985.
She is survived by two daughters Susan Pratt and her husband Kevin of Saranac Lake, NY and Sandra Fobare also of Saranac Lake, NY. She was preceded in death by her father and her mother.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Saturday, July 17, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A Memorial service will immediately follow on Saturday at 4:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating.
