Steve G. Fletcher, age 60, of 419 County Route 47, Saranac Lake, died unexpectedly Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Adirondack Medical Center.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on December 11, 1953, he was the son of Herbert and Leah (Swinyer) Fletcher. Steve married Janet Holmes on August 18, 1979 in Saranac Lake.
Steve was a life long resident of Saranac Lake and started in the roofing business at the age of 16 working for Tom Brindisi. He owned and operated Commercial Roofing II for over 10 years and later went to work for Rabideau Corp. in Saranac Lake. A few of Steve’s favorite past times included barbecuing with friends and family, hunting and fishing. He had also been an avid bowler participating in several local leagues over the years. He was a devoted friend, husband, father and grandfather and especially enjoyed spending time with his son Matthew working on his home.
He is survived by his wife Janet Fletcher of Saranac Lake, two sons Jason Fletcher and his wife Rachel of Key West, FL and Matthew Fletcher and his wife Robyn of Saranac Lake, two grandsons Ayden and Ethan, three brothers Raymond Fletcher and his wife Carol of Lake Clear, Randall Fletcher of Saranac Lake and Jeffrey Fletcher and his companion Sue Starr of Saranac Lake, one sister Wendy Martin of Saranac Lake and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 2PM -4PM and 7PM - 9PM. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday July 2, 2014 at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake, with Rev. Mark Reilly officiating.
