TUPPER LAKE- Saundra "Sandy" E. Fleming, 70, of Tupper Lake, died May 10th, 2012 at Mercy Living Center surrounded by all of her family and many friends. Sandy was born January 16, 1942 in Tupper Lake, the daughter of Orlene and Emil Paul Poirier. She attended school in Tupper Lake before marrying Robert F. Fleming on April 18, 1959 at St. Alphonsus church. Sandy was a nurses aide for a short time at Sunmount DDSO before becoming a homemaker raising her eight children. She was very crafty, spending many hours knitting and crocheting and doing plastic canvas. She loved country music, baking, playing bingo and talking on the phone with lifelong friends Robin Gerstenberger and Amy (Clement) Stout. Sandy was a member of the Tupper Lake Rescue squad for many years. She also volunteered her time at the Tupper Lake food pantry. Sandy is survived by her loving husband Robert recently celebrating their 53rd year of marriage. Seven children, Dale and his girlfriend Telissa of Tupper Lake, Kevin and his girlfriend Kim of Saranac Lake, Tina Fleming of Perry Georgia, Carl and his wife Margaret of Norfold, VA., Erick of Tupper Lake, Tammy Wilson and her boyfriend Brian of Avondale, AZ., and Cheryl Rivers and her husband Carl of Tupper Lake. Grandchildren, Terri Lynn Smith, Danny Fleming, Jesse Fleming, Mathew Fleming, Ava Fleming, Cara Rae and Jessica Fleming, Matthew and Jennifer Burnham, Allie Watkins, Derrick McFaul, Chase Fleming, Caitlyn Corrow, Holly and Christopher Fleming, Austin Wilson, Cedar and Ciara Rivers and several great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at a later date at St. Alphonsus cemetery. She was pre-deceased by a daughter Carla Rae Fleming in 1966, one sister Dolones Wheeler and her parents. . There will be no calling hours.
