Laura Favro

Laura Favro, age 73, of 8 Elbow Street, Saranac Lake, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at her home.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on February 21, 1937, she was the daughter of Monroe and Eva (Pelkey) Moody. Laura married Joseph Henry "Hank" Favro on July 24, 1955 in Saranac Lake, New York. Hank predeceased her on September 26, 2000.

Laura was a life long resident of the area and had been employed by the American Management Association and later for the Village of Saranac Lake as the Village Clerk for many years. Prior to AMA she had been employed at the A& P in Saranac Lake. Laura loved flowers and traveling with her husband. She enjoyed being with her family most of all .

She is survived by two sons Joseph Favro, II and Scott Favro of Saranac Lake, NY, two daughters Janet Simonson and her husband Robert of Saranac Lake, NY, and Ann Favro of Saranac Lake, NY, one brother Monroe Moody of Saranac Lake, NY, seven grandchildren Jean Marie Favro, Kira Ann Thompson, Eric Stanley Thompson, Bailey Ann Preston, Miles Allen Favro, Kaine Henry Favro and Laura Ruth Favro and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. A graveside servie will take place at St. Bernard's Cemetery in the spring with Pastor Michael Stanley officiating.
