TUPPER LAKE- Beulah Facteau, 87, of Piercefield, died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Mercy Living Center where she had resided for the past 3 months. Born May 29, 1924 in Clyde, NY, she was the daughter of Stewart and Mary (Francisco) Shumway. Mrs. Facteau was a veteran of the U.S. Army working as a File Clerk and later Cook at Fort Benning Airborne School in Georgia. She was Honorably discharged July 1, 1946. Beulah returned to Tupper Lake and was employed at Sunmount VA Hospital in the Food Service Dept. On January 13, 1962 she married Roy Facteau. He pre-deceased her on August 3, 1990. She is survived by one sister; Isabelle LaVair, a stepdaughter Phyllis Devirgeles and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, three brothers; Ronald, Donald and Arthur Shumway, two sisters; Marguerite Bartholomew and Hilda Currier. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in May at Gale cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Piercefield Ladies Auxiliary or Rescue Squad.
