Memorial services have been set for Jeanne B. Duso, age 84, of Saranac Lake and Bradenton, FL, who died at her home surrounded by loving family, on May 17, 2016 in Bradenton, FL.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on December 18, 1931, she was the daughter of Lee and Merilda (Lamare) Gladd. Jeanne married Harry “Ed” Duso on August 26, 1950 in Saranac Lake. He predeceased her on October 27, 2005.
After a short career as a telephone operator for New York Telephone, Jeanne worked not only as a homemaker but also alongside Ed at the family businesses of Crescent Bay Camps and Duso’s Sales and Service, where she had many jobs. She also volunteered her time with the cub scouts, girl scouts and other civic and church groups. She was active in Florida where she enjoyed her friends, neighbors, her nightly walk and many park activities. She especially enjoyed the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Jeanne was a life-long member of St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake.
She is survived by her son Craig B. Duso and his wife Vicki of Myrtle Beach, SC; her daughter Theresa A. LeBaron of Bradenton, FL; six grandchildren: Todd Chapman of San Francisco, CA; Carrie Chapman of Myrtle Beach, SC; Matthew Duso of Myrtle Beach, SC; Noah LeBaron and his wife Danielle of Boston, MA; Abby LeBaron of Seattle, WA and Sarah Dean of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Olivia, Teddy, Drake and Ryley.
Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, son Tad E. Duso and siblings: Francis, Robert, Margaret (Peggy), Doris, Marion, Shirley, Richard (Dickie) and Ronald (Ronnie).
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday June 17, 2016 at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
