Claire Duquette

Claire B. Duquette, age 95, formerly of Lake Clear, Saranac Lake, St Augustine, FL and Saranac Village at Will Rogers, died Friday, July 17, 2015 at Mercy Living Center, Tupper Lake, NY.

Claire was born May 8, 1920 in Lake Clear, NY, the daughter of Harry R. and Edith (Riley) Bedell. She was married to John J Duquette, April 5, 1942, in St. John’s Church, Lake Clear, NY. He predeceased her in 1998.

Claire was a lifelong resident of the area. She is survived by two daughters: M. Ann Gertz (Richard) of Avon, CT and Ruth D. Fortune (Andrew) of Saranac Lake, one son: William Duquette of Hickory, NC, and eight grandchildren: John Guzzardi, Bridgett Guzzardi, Chris Fortune, Tim Fortune, Ann Fortune, Elizabeth Duquette, John Duquette, Sarah Duquette, one niece, Barbara Bedell and a brother-in-law, Robert Bleier. She was pre-deceased by her husband John J Duquette, a son John Duquette, her father Harry Bedell, her mother Edith Bedell, three sisters: Kathleen (Tommy) Lauder, Alberta Haskell and Martha Bleier, and a brother: Harry Bedell, two nephews: Craig Bedell and John Haskell and a niece Claire Haskell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St Bernard’s Church with Father Patrick Ratigan, the Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.

Friends may make contributions in Claire's memory to St.Bernard’s School in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.
