Mya L. Duprey, age 68, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Mercy Healthcare in Tupper Lake, NY.
She was born on October 28th, 1952 in Saranac Lake, NY to Helen and James Strack.
She was a 1972 graduate of Saranac Lake Central High School. She married Charles “Cubby” Duprey on October, 25th 1975. She retired as an Account Clerk and Section 8 Coordinator for Harrietstown Housing Authority, forming wonderful connections to the families and senior citizens with whom she worked. Mya truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, playing cards, bowling, crocheting, and just spending time with family, friends and her dog, Lucky.
She was widowed by her husband, Charles Duprey, and predeceased by her partner Gary Martin. Also predeceased by her brothers George, Thomas, Wesley, and Richard. She is survived by her three sons, Charlie Duprey of Saranac Lake, James Duprey of Boston, MA, and Larry Duprey of Moses Lake, WA. She is also survived by her siblings, Dawn Boula of Bloomingdale, NY. Gerald Strack of Florida, Edward Strack of Phoenix, AZ, Eugene Strack of Albany, NY, and an Aunt Kathy Strack of Lake Clear, NY along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Family, friends, and others whose lives Mya touched are invited to a burial service at St. Bernard’s cemetery in the spring (TBD) to reminisce, grieve, support each other and celebrate her life.
