Dennis B. “Spider” Duprey, age 72, of Saranac Lake, died at home on Friday, December 18, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on June 11, 1948, he was the son of Clarence and Mary (D'Onofrio) Duprey.
Spider was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake and had been employed as a Sergeant for the Saranac Lake Village Police Department for 20 years until his retirement in 1993. Prior to that he was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard Serving during the Vietnam War. Spider was a loving and great father, husband, Papa, brother, uncle and friend. He loved hunting, golfing, and fishing, especially with his grandson. Spider was the USA number one breakman for Brent Rushlaw at the 1978 Worlds and also was on 1985 US Worlds team in Cervina, Italy.
He is survived by his wife Kelly Morgan-Duprey, one daughter Jamie, Son-in-law Shawn and one grandson Blake Rohe all of Saranac Lake. He is also survived by 4 brothers Oliver (Marianne) Duprey of Westport, Anthony (Mary Lynne) Duprey of Saranac Lake, Ronald Duprey of Syracuse, Gary (Phyllis) Duprey of Wilmington, and one sister Sally Weaver of Allenwood, NJ, one sister-in-law Margaret Dee Dee Duprey of Saranac Lake and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother Clarence Duprey, Jr.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic private family services will take place now and a mass of Christian Burial will take place sometime spring/summer of 2021 to be announced.
