Pauline Dupree, age 84, of 30 Cliff Ave, Tupper Lake, NY, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the home of her daughter Barbara Stevens, with whom she had been recently residing in Tupper Lake.
Born in Canisteo, New York on January 26, 1926, she was the daughter of Albert and Dimple (Boucher) Girard. She married Edmond Dupree on May 1, 1946 in First United Methodist Church in Saranac Lake. He predeceased her on October 1, 2001. She was also predeceased by her companion of 20 years, Albert Terrio on July 13, 1986.
Mrs. Dupree was a lifelong resident of the area and had worked at OWD in Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake Shoe Factory and the Saranac Lake Dress Factory. She had been a resident of Saranac Lake for 20 years and later returned to Tupper Lake where she lived for most of her life. Mrs. Dupree loved to play bingo, dance and dabble in the New York State Lottery. She was a very creative and artistic person who enjoyed sewing, crafts and especially drawing. She also was an avid golf fan, even though she did not golf herself she loved to watch it on TV.
She is survived by three daughters Marlene Hyde and her husband Tom of Saranac Lake, Brenda Greenwood and her husband Tim of Rochester, Barbara (Terrio) Stevens and her husband Roy of Tupper Lake; one brother Robert Girard and wife Betty of Lake Clear, 7 grandchildren Dawn Schommer and husband Brian, Dwayne Duprey and wife Wanda, David Duprey, Tommy Duprey, Martinique Bonter and husband Bob, Heather Moon and fiance Randy Beckwith, and Roy Stevens, Jr. and companion Jen Hutchinson, 7 great grandchildren Hunter Moon, Madison Moon, Camren Beckwith, Aden Beckwith, Jessie Stevens, Alex Duprey, and Jillian Schommer, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, three sisters Pearl Cusson, Albertine Youmell and Lorraine Kelly; two brothers Paul Annette and Sherman Girard.
Calling hours will take place at Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial is tentatively set to take place at 11:00 am on Saturday April 3, 2010 at St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake with Rev. Raymond Moreau officiating. Burial will take place at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake.
