Dorothy H. Lorette

Dorothy H. Lorette, age 85, of Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY

Born in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire on August 17,1938, she was the daughter of Mortan and Estella (Martin) Muncil. Dorothy married James “Jim” Lorette on Monday, August 22,1959 in Greenville, New Hampshire.

Dorothy and James moved to Saranac Lake, NY in 1979 coming from Temple, New Hampshire. Dorothy had worked for St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation Center as a secretary for many years up until her retirement. She was a long-time member of the loyal order of the Moose, Chapter 457. Dorothy loved working in her flower beds, reading, drawing, and other crafting. She also loved dancing with her husband James. 

Dorothy is survived by her two sons: James Lorette of Port Orchard, WA, and Steve (Debbie Donaldson) Lorette of Saranac Lake; her daughter Michelle Fenton of Saranac Lake, six grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy is also survived by one sister Joanne LeClair of NH and one brother Mortan Muncil of NH.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband James “Jim” Lorette, one son Randy Lorette and her son-in-law Scott Fenton; as well as 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. At Dorothy’s request, there will be no calling hours. All funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A celebration of life will take place at a later date and location to be announced.
