John Dietz

John Gerald “Jack” Dietz, age 95 of Saranac Lake, NY passed away on Wednesday May 3, 2023 at the North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Massena, NY.

John was born on March 14, 1928 in Oneonta, NY the son of John and Lillian (VanZant) Dietz and attended William S. Hackett Junior High School.

John made a career in the U.S. Military, serving in the Navy and the Army retiring in 1971.

John is survived by his daughter Linda (Floyd) Iby of Malone, NY; two sons: Mark of Brushton, NY and Michael of Florida. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his parents and his wife Sheila.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday May 11, 2023 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in the family lot.
