Robert E. Dewey, age 80 died on Saturday February 12, 2011at his home surrounded by his three sons Roger, Rodney and Bradley.

He was born on October 19, 1930 in Dickenson Center, NY the son of Bernard and Maude (Snyder) Dewey.

He married Theoda Leware on October 6, 1956. She predeceased him on November 14, 1998.

Robert and his brother Roger enlisted in the United States Army in 1949 and both served in the Korean War. Roger was killed in action. Robert served from 1949 to 1952. After the Korean War, Robert returned home and was employed as a meat cutter for Swif Premium in Saranac Lake for over 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Saranac lake VFW Post and The Saranac Lake Moose Club.

He is survived by three sons Roger Lawrence Dewey of Saranac Lake, Rodney Robert Dewey now residing in Calcasieu, Louisiana and Bradley Bernard Dewey of Saranac Lake, daughters-in-law Theresa Dewey and one sister Hesper Wardner of Spring Hill, Florida. He was predeceased by one brother Roger and two sisters Lucille Fu006Clerton and Beulah Bray.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family in the spring. Burial will take place in Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake in the spring.
