TUPPER LAKE-Theode A. Desmarais,88, of Tupper Lake, passed away, Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born October 9, 1923 in Weedon, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of Henry and Clara (Deschamp) Desmarais. Mr. Desmarais moved to Tupper Lake in 1950 and was a self employed logger all of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife Charlotte (Theriault) of 32 years, three daughters; Rachel Desmarais, Claire Brown and her husband Ray, of Tupper Lake, Joanna Goldfarb and her husband Terry of Plattsburgh, four sons; Ronald , Terry, Mickey and his wife Sue and Keith and his wife Carla, all of Tupper Lake, one step-daughter Debra McCormick of Tucson, AZ., 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, one brother, Harvey of Weedon, Que. Also surviving are six sister-in-laws; Madeline Desmarais of Brompton Lake Que., Jackie Desmarais of Glenrock, WY., Irene LeMay of Dover, NH, Jeanie Theriault of Tupper Lake, Sally Morin-Shaw and her husband Mike of Alabama, Nancy Gale and her husband Richard of Tupper Lake, five brother-in-laws; John Theriault and his wife Vivian of Washington, Sam Theriault and his wife Rita of Tupper Lake, Jimmy Theriault aond his wife Tina of Saranac Lake, Glen Theriault and his wife Donna of Alabama and Rocky Theriault and his wife Barb of Georgia. He was pre-deceased by one son Jerry and his first wife Marguerite. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 8th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name church. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad or Fire Dept.
