Anna Irene Delancett, age 93, formerly of 20 Mulflur Road Saranac Lake, died Monday, July 04, 2011 at Adirondack Medical Center.
Born in Trenton, New Jersey on October 11, 1917, she was the daughter of Andrew and Veronica (Sladaick) Svacak. She married Charles Delancett in 1958. He predeceased her in 1980.
Mrs. Delancett had been a resident of Saranac Lake for most of her life and had worked at Ray Brook State Hospital for many years and for Sunmount for a short time. She retired in 1973. She was a member of the Saranac Lake Women of the Moose and the American Legion Auxillary. Mrs. Delancett enjoyed crochet, reading, gardening and baking bread.
She is survived by one daughter Regina VanCour of Saranac Lake, NY, three grandchildren Gina Moody of Saranac Lake, Veronica Ellithorpe of Saranac Lake, NY, and Monroe Moody of Saranac Lake, NY, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters Margaret Ehren of Hilliard, OH, and Helen Wolfson and her husband Morton of Gainesville, FL, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, two brorthers Andrew and Stephen Svacak and one sister Veroncia Svacak.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial is set to take place at 12:00 PM on Thursday July 7, 2011 at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery.
