Peter P. Day, age 79, of 50 Lake View Ave, Tupper Lake, died Thursday, February 07, 2013 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in New York City on March 17, 1933, the son of John and Tessa (D'Aragon) Day. He married Faith Johnson on June 24, 1973 in Plattsburgh, NY.
Peter Day was honorably discharged from the US Navy in 1956, before entering a 20+ year career in the United States Air Force. He was a master electrician specializing in communication and avionics electronics. After military retirement he worked as an industrial manager in Plattsburgh for Daigle Aqua and Beaver Knit Ware. He was a superb woodworker, canoe builder and mechanical engineer. He loved painting, fishing, fly-tying and camping and spent many days on the water and in the woods with the love of his life, Faith, and all of their eight, loving children.
He is survived by his wife, Faith of Tupper Lake, a brother, Wyatt Day of Nyack, NY, four children Veronica Day of Morris, CT, John Day of Cheshire, CT, Yvonne Lund of Morgan Hill, CA, and Nancy Day of Austin, TX, four step children, Ellen Yoder of Morrisonville, NY, Linda Pascarelli of Wilmington, NY, Frank Pastizzo of Saranac Lake, NY, and Anthony Pastizzo of Ogdensburg, NY, twenty-four grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Internment will take place at Lake View Cemetery in Tupper Lake at the convenience of the family.
