BLOOMINGDALE - Susan S. Darrah, 61, of 82 Main St., Bloomingdale, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born in Saranac Lake on May 27, 1950, she was the daughter of Francis Victor and Margaret (Shackett) Saumier. Susan married William Darrah on April 12, 1969.
Susan was a 1968 graduate of Saranac Lake High School. She was employed at Ayres Agency for fifteen years and Adirondack Internal Medicine for twenty years, retiring in 2010. Susan enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and camping and fishing.
She is survived by her husband, William; her daughter, Laurie Woodruff and Gary of Bloomingdale; three grandchildren: Brittany, Kyle and William Woodruff of Bloomingdale; three sisters: Joan Tyrell and Rick of Taberg, Mary Bishop of Yuba City, Calif. and Vickie McCormick of New Jersey; a sister-in-law, Arlene McCalvin and Marty of Bloomingdale; a brother-in-law, Clifford Darrah and Terry of Bloomingdale; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Victor Saumier, and her mother, Margaret Shackett Saumier.
There will ne no public calling hours or services. Interment will take place in Brookside Cemetery, Bloomingdale.
